Jul 14, 2016 Autotune is essentially a program used to automatically tune a vocal recording (Both in the studio and even live) so that it’s is more on-pitch and in key to the specific song. This difference between Melodyne and Auto-Tune has, until now, also been reflected in the much higher price of the flagship Studio version of Melodyne, but the plug-in version is very keenly priced to compete directly with the native version of Auto-Tune, so potential users now have a direct choice where the price differential is no longer a.

hi all-
finally traded in the old PCI HD rig. got a new computer with HD Native, PT 10, etc etc. it runs super-well. things is great.
i do however probably need to upgrade from Autotune 4 to something that's not 10 years old. if it makes a difference- i am frequently using it to correct a few notes here and there. i am almost never doing any kind of crazy tune-every-note-twice-over sort of modern pop.
i know what the differences are between EVO and 7. but does anyone actually find themselves using/needing/wanting the extra features in 7? if not, i'll probably just save a few bucks and grab EVO.
is one or the other less prone to crashing Pro Tools?
thanks for your feedback.
